Welcome to the "EnergyROM" thread !


This development thread is for my "Energy" custom firmware series for the HTC Touch HD (Blackstone) device.


The current build numbers and date can be seen in the title of this thread. I usually update the ROMs every few days, as new builds come down the pipe.

I also build my ROMs with four main goals.

• Eye candy ( I want my ROM to look great and for it to all flow together nicely)

• Smoothness, consistency and good aesthetics
  
• Stability through private beta testing before public release
  

I pre-configure a lot of things in my ROM, because when I flash it on my phone, I want it ready to go. So, expect the backlight to be set at the maximum brightness, the ringtone, sms/email and other notifications to already be set. Doing it this way, makes for a nice ROM that's ready out of the box.

I recommend learning to backup your settings with either Sashimi or UC (User Customization). Backing up with SPB Backup or similar products, is NOT recommended, as they tend to backup the previous release's registry/file bugs as well!



Looking at the download folder you will find two core versions of my ROM.

• The 21905 Build which is the most reliable and bug free release. It has the Start menu button at the top left corner! I recommend you start with this first!
  

• The 23569 Build that's the latest in the 6.5.5 series with the Start menu button at the bottom left corner and big softkeys. These builds are not as stable or perfect, but they reflect the latest cutting edge technology from Microsoft. These are also much more finger friendly throughout.

The XDA_UC cooked in my ROMs is modified from the stock XDA_UC made by Noonski. Great addon, by the way... Noonski did a great job with this !

The version in my ROMs is trimmed down to fit the needs of my ROM series.

Some of the extra features are:

• It will copy shortcuts (.lnk files) found in \XDA_UC\Start Menu\ to the device's start menu folder (\windows\Start Menu) in the hierarchy that it finds on the storage card. For example: Let's say you have a navigation package on the storage card, like Navigon. If you make a shortcut to the navigon.exe file as Navigon.lnk and copy it to \XDA_UC\Start Menu\GPS\ as "Navigon.lnk" then on a fresh ROM install it will copy any shortcuts it finds there to the same location on the device, so it'll end up in \Windows\Start Menu\GPS\. This works for other folders on the Start Menu as well. Just put the shortcuts in \xda_uc\Start Menu\ in the folders you will like the shortcuts to appear to, on the device.
  

• It will copy a custom splash screen from \Storage Card\XDA_UC\welcomehead.192.png to \windows automatically and overwrite the one in the ROM.
  

• It will copy a custom Sense background found in \Storage Card\XDA_UC\sense\wallpaper_sense.png to the device and set that wallpaper as default in Sense. So rename your wallpaper as "wallpaper_sense.png" and drop it in \Storage Card\XDA_UC\sense\ and on the next ROM flash that wallpaper will become your wallpaper in Sense.
  

Other than that XDA_UC works as designed by Noonski and it will do the following things:

• It will automatically import your PPCbackup (*.pib) file found in \Storage Card\XDA_UC\
  

• It will install custom XDAS scripts found in \Storage Card\XDA_UC\
  

• It will silently install CAB files found in \Storage Card\XDA_UC\
  

• It will install special CAB files that require user input (such as Agreements or any type of prompt) found in \Storage Card\XDA_UC\SD
  

• It will silently import REG files found in \Storage Card\XDA_UC\
  

• It will silently install REG files found in \Storage Card\XDA_UC\Exporter, as exported by my own Settings Exporter, ONLY if the "automatic" file is also present in that folder (and it most cases it should be, enable that option in the Settings Export application's menu)
  

• It will silently import XML files found in \Storage Card\XDA_UC\
  

• It will silently import CER files (usually Exchange certificates) found in \Storage Card\XDA_UC\
  

• It will silently run custom MSCR files found in \Storage Card\XDA_UC\
  

That's it, but don't forget to checkout the Addons folder and look in the XDA_UC section for tips and tutorials on how to export your email/wifi settings and various little .reg and tweaks you can add to your XDA_UC collection.

As always don't forget to check what installs automatically before reporting a problem with the ROM. Most of the time, if you notice you have a problem that nobody else is experience is because one of the cabs you dropped in the XDA_UC folder is installing automatically while you don't even think about it.

Q: After a reset my Phone hangs on white loading screen ......
A: This is caused by a non compatible Radio. Upgrade to a 2.xx.50.xx Radio Version

Q: My Battery drains *#!%& fast!!
A: This is normally Radio related, try flashing another Radio Version and see how that works out.

Q: How do i flash a radio?
A: Basically in the same way as you flash any other Rom.

Q: Which is the best Radio to use with EnergyRoms ...... ?
A: There is no "Best" Radio, they seem to be Location and Preference dependant. Some have better Recetion but poor battery life and vicaversa. Try out the "big 4" to see which works best for you (2.(07/08/09/10).50.xx_xx) just make sure it is a 50 and not a 51 version --> example 2.07.50.xx is good but 2.07.51.xx is not

Q: I just want to know which one to flash that will give me the extra RAM and best performance.
A: Same answer as the one above

Q: I've just flashed Energy cookie home tab and the network operator is showing as Energy.
A: Just go into "CHTEditor > Miscellaneous settings > Other settings (all the way at the bottom)> Custom Operator text". If you want your network Name in there remove the default text so the box is empty

Q: When my screen turns off i cant switch on the phone. I have to take out the battery
A1: This is a so called "White Screen of Death". What could help here is a Reflash of the Radio Rom. No idea why but has been reported to work. Just be careful to use a compatible Radio Version.
A2: Please delete "all data you have not created" from the SD card before flashing... This is because sometimes there are programs that leave registry traces on the SD and they could interfere when you re-install the apps.
A3: If you are thinking of a Hard Reset - Remove the SD card and then Hard Reset. Let it complete the whole process, and when it reaches the home screen, (give it a few more seconds) DO NOTHING.. Simply turn off the phone. Now insert the SD card and boot.

Q: My Phone freezes several times throughout the day and the only way of rebooting it is to remove the battery (similar to above point)
A: Same Answer as above

Q: The Rom doesn’t contain the original HTC Messaging client
A: This can be downloaded on Page 1 Post #2 under Add On’s

Q: Can this Rom be used on a US T-Mobile HD2 with 1Gb Rom?
A: As mentioned in the very first Post: Yes it can

Q: Are there any Mirrors to download from?
A: No there are no Mirrors due to a Request by NRGZ28 himself - So no Use asking for any

Q: My music stops or gets stuck when the screen is locked or turned off
A: This is a CHT Lock screen issue. Disable CHT Lock screen and use the traditional WMo screen lock from the CHT editor

Q: The chat bubble in the new NRGZ sms conversation does not work, when I install the rom, I get the classic sms compose view.
A: Scroll to "Messaging" in sense, click all messages button. From there you can find the bubble style.

Q: What happens if i ask a stupid or repetitive question?
A: You WILL get flamed!

Disable weather animation sense 2.1


Hi to all, after reading so many threads I found a way to disable weather animation without changing home backround:
you have to change this registry setting:
HKCU/Software/HTC/Manila/HomeBackgroundPath set to empty value and you have to create following string value:
HKCU/Software/HTC/Manila/defaulthomebackgroundpath set to x.

- Twitter tab isn't functional yet it seems
- If you go to the "Other Settings" entry in the Settings screen, you phone will hang and you'll have to reboot.
- No Landscape mode in any screen, except for the Photos and Music tabs.

Bugs rencontrés par tous les Beta Testeurs ( XDA et bien sur ce forum n'hésitez pas ) :

_ Problème d'indicateur de batterie : aprés un soft reset la batterie peut baisser de 20 % voir moins , voir plus .... plus ce soucis sur la version 23/09/09 je confirme .
_L'Horloge qui à une heure de retard et qui revient à la bonne heure à chaque check de la memoire ou à un retour du start menu vers le home ou du manilla vers le home : NRG veut et souhaite que cela reste ainsi ( ca lui plait à t -il affirmé )...
_Impossible d'envoyer des MMS meme avec les soluces ici... ( possible avec la soluce 1 )
_Impossible d'envoyer une photo vers FACEBOOK

( je cherche un peu sur XDA et je vous dis.. )

Yes le 2.5 deboite mais moi je prefere encore le 2.1 car rien que mon logiciel pour gerer mais sms Efficasoft Mobile Express ne marche pas sur la 2.5 sa doit pas etre foutu pareil les sms et sa bug beaucoup plus que la 2.1 moins rapide ! Pas assez encore pour moi mais surtout a cause du logiciel !

ROM SPLANTIDE ! RIEN A DIRE LA RECOMMANDE A TOUS LE MONDE !

Bientôt peux être quelqu'un s'occupera d'une traduction ....

je suis en officielle la pour le moment ( ROM ) pour l'utilisation de wikango qui ne marche qu'avec l'OS officielle ( detecteur de radar ) donc j' ai pas pu trop test pour le moment l'histoire des MMS mais compte sur moi je vais te trouver une soluce t'inquete...

Bon allez je test en attendant celle de Laurentius. J'espère qu'elle est assez fluide.

EDIT:

Clairement la meilleure 2.5 que j'ai testée (Miri, Dutty, ...). Fluide pour une 2.5 et la rotation du player est plus rapide que dans les autres 2.5.
Bravo l'artiste!

Par contre, comment enlever le fond derrière tous les autres tabs du TF3D... C'est pas très beau je trouve

tu as touch HD walls ( une petite recherche sur ce forum ) soft qui permet de mettre le wall de ton choix dans toutes les tabs..

Merci. Je connaissais ce programme mais est ce qu'on peut supprimer le fond actuel de tous les tabs sans rien ajouter? Je ne sais pas si c'est possible de le faire sans devoir passer par un autre programme.

Autre Petite question, est-ce possible de désactivier le reculement automatique de l'heure ? L'effet styl" voulu par HTC... (chaque fois qu'on change de tab, l'heure passe de H-1 à H)

je pense pas, pas trop le temps de chercher mais rappel moi de faire cette recherche plus tard je risque d'oublier je suis en déplacement..

l'envoie des SMS marche nickel pour les MMS , voir page 1 post 3 pour une soluce..

aprés pour ce qui est fluidité je prépare un gros test pour jeudi, la je suis en déplacement ( clientèle ) donc je peux pas trop bidouiller .... mais je tiens a courant...

mais si d'autres personnes veulent bien faire des retours ca peut etre bien...

En attendant le test de Dougi, je peux te dire que c'est déjà plus fluide que les autres (j'ai testé la derniere Dutty et Miri). Mais ca reste du 2.5, ca n'est pas aussi fluide qu'une bonne 6.1 mais c'est déjà bien ;-)

Une petite question la new rom comporte la correction de registre pour les mms que tu nous a mis au début du post ?
Et aussi la correction pour la fluidité de manilla ?
et aussi le driver pack neoss2007 ?

Je peux vous dire que sur la ROM PDAViet aussi bien v63 que v 64 (j'y accède sans problème et peux faire mes choix), il n'y a pas ce problème, donc je ne pense pas que ce soit un bug HTC .

ecoute je peux pas te dire, je peux pas encore flash ( clientèle jusqu' a ce soir ) mais je pense pas , bon apres de les installer ca prend 2 sec. mais demain je ferai ca un big test coming UP...
